DAISY JONES & THE SIX | SERIES

Sim, eu sei, demorei muito tempo, já toda a gente viu esta série. Em minha defesa, gostei tanto do livro que tinha medo de ficar desiludida com a adaptação, para além de já ter as personagens bem definidas na minha cabeça. Mas finalmente subscrevi o Prime Video e vi. E ainda bem que o fiz. Acho que esta pode ser mesmo uma das melhores adaptações que já vi.

Já tinha feito um post sobre o livro (aqui) onde falei sobre a história e o que mais gostei no livro. 

No livro já encontramos um universo e personagens muito bem construídas, e na série conseguiram mostrar tudo isso. Acho impressionante como no livro a autora dá as letras das músicas e como conseguiram transformá-las em música verdadeira, como Daisy Jones & The Six é uma banda que existe no Spotify, como Aurora é um álbum real (e tão bom!). A sensação que temos ao ler de que estamos a ler sobre pessoas e celebridades reais passou a ser, de certa forma, correta.

No início foi difícil adaptar-me aos atores, principalmente o ator que faz de Billy porque só conseguia pensar no Finnick dos Jogos da Fome LOL. Mas passado um bocado já não conseguia pensar noutros atores para representar estas personagens. A Daisy, o Billy, a Camilla, meu deus. E o facto de serem os atores a cantar mesmo no álbum? Nao consigo parar de falar sobre como a qualidade desta série está noutro nível. 

Algo bom sobre ter esperado muito tempo entre ler o livro e ver a série foi que consegui desfrutar de alguns elementos surpresa que já não me recordava. No final fui apanhada pela realização de, no momento, saber o que estava prestes a acontecer, mas não estava a pensar nisso quando comecei a ver a série. Honestamente, já nem me lembrava bem do quão triste era, apenas me lembrava de quem era a pessoa que estava a fazer as entrevistas.

É mesmo uma história que vale a pena ver, e uma adaptação de outro nível.

Yes, I know, it took me a long time, everyone has already watched this series. In my defence, I liked the book so much that I was scared I was going to be disappointed with the adaptation, besides already having the characters so well defined in my head. But I have finally subscribed to the Prime Video platform and watched it. And I'm so glad I did. I think this could really be one of the best adaptations I have ever seen.

I already have a post about the book (here) where I talked about the story and what I liked the most about the book. 

In the book, we find a universe and characters so well-built, and in the series, they are able to show all of it. I think that it is impressive how in the book the author gives us the letters of songs and how they were able to transform them into real music, how Daisy Jones & The Six is a real band on Spotify, how Aurora is a real album (and one that is so good!). The feeling that we have while reading that we're reading about real people and celebrities became, in a certain way, correct. 

In the beginning, it was hard to adapt to the actors, especially to the actor who plays Billy because the only thing I could think of was Finnick from the Hunger Games LOL. But, after a while, I could not think of other actors to play those characters. Daisy, Billy, Camilla, my god. And the fact that the actors are really singing in the album? I cannot stop talking about how the quality of this series is in another level. 

A good thing about waiting so much time between reading the book and watching the series was that I could enjoy some surprise elements that I did not remember as well. In the end, I was caught up in the realization that, at that moment, I knew what was about to happen, but was not thinking about that when I started watching the series. Honestly, I didn't even remember how sad it was, I only remembered who was the person doing the interviews.

It really is a story worth watching, and an adaptation on another level.
