Aproveitando o facto de ter Amazon Prime, decidi ver esta série que já me tinha sido recomendada algumas vezes, e meu deus!

A série é escrita e protagonizada por Phoebe Waller-Bridge, e seguimo-la enquanto ela faz a sua vida quotidiana, seguimos os casos que tem, as conversas com o pai e com a irmã Claire e vemos em primeira mão como são as suas relações. 

Uma das coisas mais engraçadas, e que envolve o espectador, é o facto de a personagem principal ter noção da câmara que a segue, e falar para nós. Pode estar a meio de uma conversa com outra personagem e virar-se para a câmara para fazer comentários ou caras, o que torna tudo ainda mais «real», mais próximo.

Mesmo sendo uma série de comédia, há muitas instâncias em que temos a oportunidade de ver o lado mais vulnerável das personagens. Isto acontece mais na segunda temporada, onde já conhecemos as personagens melhor e já há uma liberdade maior para entender certas ações e reações delas. No fundo, já as entendemos melhor.

Adorei ver a relação entre a protagonista e a sua irmã a desenvolver-se e a aprofundar-se. Bem como as mudanças na relação do pai com as filhas. A personalidade da protagonista é super engraçada. 

Uma coisa interessante foi como o padre, na segunda temporada, conseguia aperceber-se de que alguma coisa acontecia quando a protagonista olhava ou falava para a câmara. E era o único a aperceber-se. Porque será que isso acontece? Um paralelo com Deus? Isto porque a câmara para a nossa protagonista parece segui-la para todo o lado, e é algo que ela tem sempre a noção que lá está, tal como acontece com Deus para o padre. No final, quando a protagonista decide dizer para a câmara não a seguir parece-me quase como um paralelo com a decisão do padre. O padre não consegue deixar de guiar a sua vida por um certo caminho sabendo que algo o observa, mas se calhar ela consegue fazê-lo. 

Há muito mais coisas que poderia analisar, mas esta foi das que me captou mais a atenção. Esta é uma das séries mais hilariantes que já vi. Mas também que dá muito que pensar. E recomendo imenso!

Taking advantage of the fact that I have Amazon Prime, I decided to watch this series that had already been recommended to me a few times and my god!

The series is written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who is also the protagonist, and we follow her while she goes on with her life, follow her affairs, and her conversations with her father and her sister Claire and watch first-hand how her relationships work.

One of the funniest things, involving the audience, is the fact that the protagonist is aware of the camera following her, and speaks to us. She can be in the middle of a conversation with other characters and turn to the camera to make comments or faces, which makes everything even more «real», and closer. 

Although it is a comedy series, there are a lot of times in which we have the opportunity to see the most vulnerable side of characters. This happens more in the second season, where we already know the characters a little better and there is already a bigger liberty to understand certain actions and reactions from them. Basically, we already understand them better. 

I loved watching the relationship between the protagonist and her sister develop and gain depth. As well as the changes in the father-daughter relationships. The protagonist's personality is super funny.

One thing that I found interesting was how the priest, in season two, could tell that something happened when the protagonist looked or talked to the camera. And he was the only one who could tell. Why could this be? A parallel with God? I say this because the camera, to our protagonist, seems to follow her everywhere, and is something that she knows is there, as happens with God to the priest. In the end, when the protagonist decides to tell the camera not to follow her seems almost like a parallel to the priest's decision. He cannot not guide his life to a certain path knowing that something is observing him, but maybe she can do it. 

There is much more to be analysed, but this was the one that got my attention the most. This is one of the funniest series that I've watched. But it is also thought-provoking! And I do recommend it!
