TOP GUN: MAVERICK

(Scroll down for the English version)

ENGLISH

Top Gun: Maverick is a movie following the one from 1986. And it is nominated, among others, for the Oscar for Best Picture!

It is a movie that takes place 30 years after, Maverick is a test pilot who is designated to teach in Top Gun and to command a mission that demands the biggest precision and the best pilots in the country.

One of the things that I liked the most about this movie was the act that there was always tension, that even though we do not know what it is the feeling of being there I were able to put myself in the character's shoes, always cheering for them. It is one of those movies that can get through the adrenaline and what the characters are feeling super well to the audience and one of the movies that I've seen that did it the best.

Another point I liked was the fact that, yes, there is a mission, but the mission and its details are not the main focus of the story at the end. When the mission is accomplished successfully we are not relieved because the general danger, the object of the mission, has been eliminated, but we are even more tense to know whether or not the characters will survive.

Besides this, the mission, and the movie, are used to show the characters' limits, and the reason why Maverick was the chosen pilot to teach them, and we see them surpass themselves.

I really liked the movie, but I don't know if it is my favourite for this category in which there are so many other big movies. I really do recommend it, and I think that watching it in a movie theater was one of the best experiences ever!
