Quantas séries sobre medicina passam hoje na televisão? Entre Chicago Med, Anatomia de Grey, The good doctor, Code Black ou The Resident, Dr. House foi a primeira que vi do início ao fim e a que até este momento permanece a que mais apreciei dentro deste género (sim, mesmo após ter visto Anatomia de Grey).
A história centra-se num médico (Dr. Gregory House) que considera completamente desnecessário criar qualquer tipo de ligação com os seus pacientes, sendo caracterizado como solitário e de mau humor. Contudo, é excelente a elaborar diagnósticos para os casos mais estranhos e controversos, sendo muitas vezes alvo de dúvida pelos outros médicos por se basear em hipóteses muito remotas e pouco prováveis de acontecer. A verdade é que apesar de tudo os seus diagnósticos estão sempre certos.
A série foi lançada em 2004 nos Estados Unidos e terminou em
2012 com 8 temporadas. Foi criada por David Shore, também criador de “The Good
Doctor”. A ideia para “Dr. House” foi inicialmente apresentada como uma série
de investigação ao estilo de CSI, mas num hospital e onde os investigadores
eram médicos. O seu sucesso foi reconhecido internacionalmente e levou a que
ganhasse vários Emmys em categorias como Melhor Realizador e Melhor Argumento.
Hugh Laurie, o ator que representa Dr. House, ganhou também dois Globos de Ouro
pela sua participação, em 2006 e 2007.
Antes de 2016 já tinha visto alguns episódios da série na televisão, mas foi neste ano, quando aderi à Netflix e não sabia que série havia de ver primeiro, que comecei a ver todos os episódios pela ordem certa. Quando dizia a outras pessoas que era esta a série que estava a ver muitas delas diziam para eu parar de a ver porque a Netflix tinha outras séries muito melhores, que esta era uma série velha e que iria demorar muito para a conseguir terminar. A verdade foi que continuei a vê-la e acredito que hoje não há muitas séries que consigam estar ao seu nível. Há muitas séries boas não só produzidas pela Netflix como não, mas que não conseguem as 8 temporadas e um total de 177 episódios como “Dr. House”.
Esta foi a primeira série que segui e acredito que foi aquela
que fez com que a minha curiosidade por cinema e televisão crescesse. Depois
desta comecei a ver outras séries de vários géneros diferentes e tenho uma
lista com mais de 35 títulos que já vi ou ainda estou a seguir.
Séries antigas e que tenham várias temporadas são aquelas que ensinam mais sobre o sucesso de quem trabalhou para que estas o alcançassem.

How many series about medicine do we see today on television?
Between Chicago Med, Grey’s Anatomy, The Good Doctor or The Resident, Dr. House
was the first series that I watched from the beginning to the end, and the one
that I enjoyed the most in this genre until now (yes, even after watching
Grey’s Anatomy).
The story is about a doctor (Dr. Gregory House) that considers that is completely unnecessary to create any king of connection with the patients, being marked as a lonely and with bad mood person. However, he’s excellent at making diagnosis for the most weird and controversial cases, being a lot of times target for doubt from other doctors because his diagnosis are based on very remote and unlikely to happen hypothesis. The truth is that, after all, he is always right.
The series were lauched in 2004 in the United States and
ended in 2012 with 8 seasons. It was created by David Shore, the creator of
“The Good Doctor” too. The initial idea for “Dr House” was presented as an
investigation series in the style of CSI, but in a hospital and where the
investigators are the doctors. Its success was recognized internationally and
leaded the series to win several Emmys in categories as Best Director and Best
Screenplay. Hugh Laurie, the actor who represents Dr. House, won two Golden
Globes for his participation, in 2006 and 2007.
Before 2016 I had already seen some episodes of the series in the television, but it was in this year, when I joined Netflix and didn’t know what series I should begin with, that I started to see all the episodes with the right order. When I was telling other people that this was the series I was watching, a lot of them said that I should stop because Netflix had a lot of other good series, that this was an old series and that I would lose a lot of time to finish it. The truth is that I kept watching it and I believe that there is not a lot of series like this one today. Netflix has the production of a lot of good series, but it is hard to have 8 seasons and a total of 177 episodes as “Dr. House”.
This was the first series I followed and I believe that it
was the one that made my curiosity for cinema and television grow. After this I
started watching a lot of other different genre series and have a list with
more than 35 titles that I have seen or I am still following.
Old series that have a lot of seasons are the ones that teach
more about the success of the people that worked for these to acomplish it.
